what we know about you, and who else sees it.

where your work lives

your drawings, your operations, your tools and your machines are written to your browser, on your computer. that is the copy kerf reads while you work. they also sync to your account, so you can pick a project up on another computer.

syncing is what puts a copy on our servers, and it is the only reason a copy is there: without it, a project would only ever exist on the computer that made it. a file on a server can be read by whoever runs the server. we do not read yours, and nobody outside gets them, but encryption that would make it impossible is not there yet, so you should know it rather than assume it.

signing in

kerf needs an account, and google is how you sign in. google tells us your email address, and nothing else about you.

what we count

this site uses google analytics to count page views and see roughly which country a visit came from. it sets a cookie in your browser and sends your address to google, in the united states. it is the only tracker here. we run no ads and sell nothing.

the app carries none of it. what you draw and what you cut is not measured.

the typeface

these pages load their font from google fonts, so google sees the address the request came from.

deleting it
